Changi Airport to National Gallery of Singapore

Overseeing the largest public collection of modern art in Singapore and Southeast Asia, the National Gallery Singapore is nestled in the Civic District of the metropolis, housed in the grandeur of two national monuments: the City Hall and the Supreme Court. The collaborative efforts which take place between the National Gallery and several international museums such as Tate Britain, Centre Pompidou and Musee d’Orsay have further propelled Singapore as a key player in terms of a global campaign which, through the dialogue between heritage, culture and art, sees the fostering of a society within the artistic world; a society in which inclusivity is of the essence.

Art-rageous Culture

The National Gallery aims to provide a platform on which visitors can gain more insight into the world of arts. Plan your visit around the daily guided tours where the museum’s in-house docents engage the crowd with fascinating facts on the gallery’s exhibits.

For a more specific tour, visitors may also opt for the Building Highlights Tour, which sets the visitors in awe of the grandeur that is the restored City Hall and Supreme Court. The Gallery also provides a conducive environment for school tours and group activities, thereby catering to education as well as rapport-building within the community.

The National Gallery presents Wu Guanzhong: Expressions of Pen & Palette, a commemoration to the esteemed writer and artist Wu Guanzhong who had passed in 2010. The Gallery hosts the exhibition which explores the relationship between Wu’s artistic creations and literary writing by bringing together major works from Singapore's National Collection and a key Southeast Asian private collection.
